Experiment #500: Traffic Signal
(Season Eighteen Finale)
(Rated PG) It's hard to believe but I've reached 500 episodes. And so, to celebrate, I'm microwaving a traffic light. No, not a toy traffic light or a decorative lamp, it's a real functional traffic signal that's meant to direct cars on a road. I couldn't rig it up for the lights to alternate like you'd see an actual traffic signal do, but I did get all three to light up and I found a way to have it running while being microwaved. It's also one of the largest items I've ever put in a microwave. Typically for each 100-episode milestone, I celebrate by microwaving light bulbs. This is sort of a light bulb episode, I guess, but it's more like an electronic item. It's also the ultimate in microwave experiments, it's never been done before and nobody's thought of doing something like this before. I was a bit disappoitned at how the light show only lasted about 3 seconds, but it did still kind of run for awhile. I let it burn for a fairly long time because it was my 500th episode, and I wanted to celebrate with some extra fire, even if it meant the microwave was toast after one episode. It wasn't my best episode ever, but it's up there, certainly my most memorable. I hope you enjoy this and the little "thank you" I put at the end since I know I don't thank you guys very often, but if it wasn't for you, it's not too likely that Microwave Me would have lasted beyond the 100 or 200th episode. I tried to do this at a time when the glare would be minimal yet it was light enough to see, since if you remember, the garage roof collapsed after a storm, so I've been contending with that, having to put my microwave show on the back burner for awhile.
