Heading to Tehachapi, CA, on the first day of a road trip with my brother, we passed a slow moving intermodal train climbing toward the summit. Exiting the freeway east of town, we took the old highway toward Monolith in hopes of getting some video of it. We parked and exited the car just in time to capture the now fast moving train as it passed the cement plant. Just as the last few cars passed, a similar westbound sped past on its way to Bakersfield.
