Returning on Amtrak from Whitefish to Portland, I made a side trip through Seattle. The Empire Builder was only 20 minutes late arriving on Thursday September 19 so I grabbed a quick cab ride to my hotel in the lower Queen Anne section also referred to as Uptown. I wasn't able to check in early so I left my bags with the staff, grabbed my video camera and headed toward Centennial Park and the railroad tracks.
I discovered a bridge to the park across Elliott Ave and the tracks that wasn't there the last time I visited Seattle back in 2005. It proved to be a great asset in roaming the area looking for trains to shoot. No longer did I have to walk south to Broad Street or north to Galer Street to access the tracks. I shot video on Thursday afternoon and again on Friday morning before returning to the King Street Station for the last leg of my travels back to Portland.
