The diaphragm has few proprioceptors embedded within its unique tissues, so getting a full sense of it, or mapping it, can be challenging. It requires we exaggerate the sensory awareness of the tissues it comes into contact with. In other words, the way we glean a somatic experience of our diaphragm is by experiencing the myofascial structures that are attached to it.

In this video, Jill offers specific instruction on how to get that sense of your diaphragm. Follow along as she navigates its connections using gentle touch of the fingers to palpate the tissues, the Coregeous Ball to pressurize inside the ribcage and specific breathing techniques to deepen your organic understanding of where the diaphragm attaches and its effect on those connections.
