Following my private rail car adventure to San Diego, I returned home on Amtrak’s Coast Starlight from Los Angeles. On the way I got to see an airliner take off from Burbank and fly over the train, a long stretch of California coastline, a missile being prepared for launch at Vandenberg AFB and a meet with the southbound Starlight at San Luis Obispo.
