KULT News audited several towns in Mississippi and, as always, had the cops called on us several times. Would the responding officers recognize and respect our rights to record in public or would they make fools of themselves as they so often do?

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
