Awkward moment Kevin Costner shuts down Gayle King as he refuses to discuss rumored feud with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan
When Gayle King tried to question Kevin Costner about how his supposed demands for more money and reported feuds behind the scenes caused him to leave Yellowstone, he quickly shot her down.
When the 69-year-old actor officially announced his exit from the cherished Paramount western last week, rumors of disagreements with creator Taylor Sheridan over salary and scheduling began to circulate. He was evasive.
Kevin insisted during his appearance on Thursday's CBS Mornings show that he "loved" the show and would return "in a second," but he wouldn't discuss the specifics of what transpired.
He told Gayle, also 69, "I loved the show before anybody else." Taylor and I were there. The truth is constant. That was a really powerful love.
If I thought that going back was something I could and wanted to do, I would definitely take that action. I would adjust it to fit.
After expressing her confusion, Gayle brought up the numerous rumors of a conflict and asked what was stopping Kevin from going back to Yellowstone.
However, the way you're portrayed isn't always positive," she remarked. You stated what you wanted: a specific timetable, a specific shooting window, and a specific amount of money.
"Why can't the two of you figure it out if it's not that hard?" That would be fantastic to watch.
But Kevin was fast to cut off Gayle's line of inquiry, stating flatly, "It's not therapy, Gayle."
Really, we won't be talking about this on the show.
Kevin was talking over Gayle when she interrupted, "I'm a good therapist."
He declared, "I've lived a fairly straightforward life."
I've never missed a deadline in my professional life, so I'm open to the concept. It's as if the question is, "Am I able to fall in love with the writing, or with the part that wants to move forward?"
