On Tuesday, Kevin Costner visited Fort Worth to browse for cowboy hats and socialize with local military personnel.
To promote his upcoming four-part western film series, "Horizon: An American Saga," Costner was in North Texas on Tuesday. On June 28, the first chapter will open in theaters, and on August 16, the second chapter.
The 69-year-old actor began his day by being given a key to the city of Irving. He then had a series of press conferences with local journalists to discuss his most recent film.
The manager of The Best Hat Store verified to the Star-Telegram that Costner visited the store late on Tuesday afternoon after traveling to the Fort Worth Stockyards. There he talked with customers while shopping for cowboy hats.
Later on Tuesday night, Costner traveled to west Fort Worth's Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base to attend a showing of "Horizon."
Before the early screening, Costner was available for question-and-answer sessions inside the base movie theater, attended by dozens of local military people. The three-hour film started to be screened after Costner bid farewell.
Costner said to the Fort Worth audience, "I'm glad to see you, it's nice to be here." "It was important to me to be able to share this movie, especially with our military."
