Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 trailer features Kevin Costner, but there’s a catch
Kevin Costner has made it into the first glimpse of Yellowstone's forthcoming (maybe!) last season despite leaving the show.
In this brief teaser for Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2, Kevin Costner makes a bold exit from the show after a highly publicized argument in order to focus on his own western, the controversial Horizon: An American Saga.
The teaser features footage of Costner as John Dutton from Yellowstone Season 2 in order to promote the new season while maintaining the presence of its most recognizable star.
"History. You create something valuable to own. There will be a try-taker. Says Dutton played by Costner, possibly ominously hinting at rumors that Yellowstone could not end after his departure after all.
Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton are scheduled to be in that continuation; both actors returned for the brief teaser that Paramount released.
Additionally, there is footage showing Wes Bentley in the role of Jamie Dutton, scrambling to destroy documents as if an FBI raid were imminent.
We're not sure how Costner's John Dutton will be written out of the show exactly yet because the teaser shows no signs of a spectacular farewell or funeral. Costner was reportedly absent from the set when Season 5 Part 2 was being filmed.
In a June 20 social media message, the actor personally announced his departure, stating he would be unable to continue on Yellowstone.
It was a very transformative experience for me. About Yellowstone, Costner remarked, "I adored it. "And I'm sure you cherished it. I adore the friendship we've been able to build, and I just wanted to let you know that I won't be coming back. I'll see you at the movies.
On November 10, 2024, Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will premiere. This could be the final season, but the franchise will not conclude with the announcement of the long-rumored Yellowstone Season 6. New series like The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox, will be produced by Yellowstone.
