How has the TV Access Project impacted accessibility on productions, and how is that translating on screen? And what funding is available to make productions more accessible?
The TV Access Project (TAP) has been the biggest coordinated response yet to make the broadcast industry more inclusive and accessible. Since its creation in 2022, and backed by UK broadcasters, international streamers, PACT and BAFTA, TAP has been removing barriers for Deaf, Disabled and/or Neurodivergent people, sharing best practice, and creating mechanisms to help push the TV industry towards their goal of full inclusion by 2030.
In this panel, we will hear from professionals with first-hand experience applying TAP standards and tapping into the Access Fund to support access both on and off screen. Speakers will share examples of how they have followed TAP’s groundbreaking 5As Guidelines: Anticipate, Ask, Assess, Adjust, Advocate.
Expect lots of tangible examples describing various measures taken that will help your productions improve accessibility for on- and off-screen talent.
