How much money can you make posting videos weekly for 19 years? For the past 19 years, I’ve uploaded videos to YouTube every single week, and in this video I reveal something many viewers are curious about: how much money my YouTube channel has actually made over the years.
Before looking at the numbers, I also share some advice for people who may be thinking about starting their own YouTube channel. I divide this advice into two groups:
1. People who want to make YouTube videos for fun
My advice is simple:
Make the videos you would want to watch yourself, and try to make each new video a little better than the last one. If you don’t enjoy making your videos, you will likely lose interest quickly. Some of the most enjoyable channels to watch are those where the creator is clearly having fun making the content.
2. People who want to treat YouTube as a business
If your goal is to make money, you must treat your channel like a business. That means regularly reviewing the numbers and analytics to understand what is working and what is not. Success on YouTube usually comes from careful analysis and improvement, not just repeating the same thing every week and hoping for a different result.
One of the biggest lessons I share in this video is the importance of choosing the right topic. In my opinion, creators should spend far more time deciding what video to make than they do on equipment, editing, thumbnails, or titles. The topic is often the single most important factor in whether a video succeeds.
Looking back at the videos that earned the most money on my channel, there is a clear pattern:
The most successful videos are those that solve a large problem for people quickly, easily, and inexpensively. When people have a problem and find a simple solution, that kind of video can be very valuable to viewers.
In this video I also:
• Give a brief history of my variety YouTube channel
• Show my YouTube analytics and earnings
• Discuss how my channel has changed over the years
• Talk about how income has fluctuated and declined in recent years
• Share my thoughts about posting videos on other platforms like BitChute
• Reveal how much money the channel has earned over time

Even though a variety channel is one of the most difficult types of channels to grow or monetize, I’ve always enjoyed making videos about many different topics that interest me, and that freedom has made the experience very rewarding.
