This simple video will show you how to knit both symmetrical and unsymmetrical single (1x1) ribbing, and also explain the anatomy of ribbing and what it is used for.
This particular rib pattern is used for many projects where stretchiness is key, and the 'ridges' and 'valleys' of the fabric are created by alternating knit and purl stitches.
