This knitting tutorial teaches you how to knit Make One Towards (M1T) and Make One Away (M1A) increases, which are similar to the ewrap or backwards loop cast on techniques because they create a new stitch out of the working yarn by simply twisting it.

This has the advantage of not using yarn already in the knitting, therefore avoiding the problem of surrounding stitches becoming too tight.
