This video is a walkthrough of a 2D pumpkin knitting pattern, from start to finish, including guidance on kfb increases, k2tog decreases, how to block your knitting, how to change colour, how to knit a spiral, and how to turn the shape into a hanging wall ornament using wire.

Note that if you leave off the spiral and swap the orange to red, you can make a Christmas bauble ornament instead!

DK yarn, 4.5 mm needles. This pattern is knit flat with straight needles.
