The first step is going over how to download Xaero’s Minimap for 26.1.2, and it’s honestly very easy. There is a link above that will take you to our complete text guide where you can click the “Download” button to go to the official page on CurseForge. Here, click Files and download the Fabric version for 26.1.2.
We will also want to download the Fabric API, which is linked above as well, since this is a dependency mod that the minimap mod needs to work.
As far as mod loaders go, we are going to be using Fabric. There is a complete guide above, the quick one is to download the installer for Windows, open it, and install the 26.1.2 version of Fabric. Once you have it installed, open the Minecraft Launcher.
When you in the Minecraft Launcher, go to the “Installations” tab. Then, click on the folder icon on your Fabric installation. This will open your .minecraft folder, and there will be a “mods” folder it in. Open this and move the Xaero’s Minimap mod and the Fabric API into it.
Now, play Minecraft with Fabric. Your minimap will be active in the top right by default, but this can be moved anywhere in the mods settings. You can access these by pressing the “Y” key. You can also click “Waypoints” here to set and manage waypoints around your world.
