My submission for the Hardware Jams “Heroes” Weekend Challenge.
I decided to go for a cinematic approach to this challenge and this is my soundtrack as the heroes of our story march to battle.
This week’s challenge prompt:
Time for some heroic jams! You can interpret this in a couple ways. Make an epic track that feels like a heroic scene in a movie. Or maybe you have a musical hero and you could make a tribute track to them in their style? (Maybe not cover songs this time.) Or is there someone else you deeply admire, a personal hero for you? It could be a historical figure, a writer or artist, athelete or activist, even a friend or family member. Make a jam honoring them. (And let’s keep political and religious debate out of this.) Let us know who your hero is, in your title or description.

I'm a strong believer in continuous improvement and always trying to learn something new. While creating this video I learnt about synthesis of brass instruments which I had not tried before. There’s a fantastic series of articles on Sound on Sound about synthesis theory and I tried various techniques in soundonsound.com/techniques/synthesizing-brass-instruments on the brass patch in this track.
My DIY Synth Rules

I aim to meet the following criteria when adding modules to my synth:
◦ I must have constructed it.
This can be a kit or from scratch but I must have soldered it
◦ The audio signal path should be analog.
I'm trying to avoid digital modules so I can learn more about analog electronics
◦ Learn something new
Try to learn something while constructing the module. Learn about the circuits, experiment with different signal processing options. Be creative.
◦ Have fun
