I am not a morning person! But I was inspired by the Hardware Jams weekend challenge prompt “Jams at Dawn” to get up at silly o’clock in the morning, head down to the beach and jam while the sun rose.
I wanted to make the sunrise part of the music so I connected a light dependent resistor to the Elmyra 2’s distortion customisation port. As the sun rose the amount of light increased and so more light fell on the LDR. This changed the harshness of the distortion over the course of the jam with the sound becoming less dark as the jam went on.
