findlestick | God of War 2: Swim Glitch at Ice Room v2 (NG compatible) @findlestick | Uploaded April 2015 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
A much faster way to get swimming glitch at the Ice Room, and it can now be done on New Game.
Here's my original arduous method to get swim glitch in this area:

Points of interest:
1. The glitch can only seem to be done if you've first skipped the Ice Room etc. (as I did at the start of the vid). That is the main catalyst to keeping the room with the grapple point unloaded for long enough to by-pass it and end up out-of-bounds.
2. By skipping triggers like I did in this vid, I not only kept the room with the grapple point unloaded, but – as with my original method – the area under the water is also unloaded. So by simply jumping into the water, I am automatically out-of-bounds and free to swim around in air.
3. The glitch can also be done after killing the Translator (but as long as you earlier skipped the Ice Room, remember). This way you can take the swimming glitch all the way to the Phoenix Chamber. Near the Phoenix Chamber there's a Gorgon that can freeze you and end the swimming glitch.
However, this fast swim-method still seems too slow for any speedrun advantage.
4. For the final jump, I recommend doing the Double Glide long jump. Don't think a regular glide will cut it, not sure though.
5. Also, I did a double glide over the Breeders battle trigger, for those asking “why didn't it trigger?”
