This was a huge hit during the Disco era for Canadian composer, musician, and record producer Gino Soccio. "Dancer" went to #1 on Billboard's Disco chart in 1979, and was also a Top Ten hit in his native Canada. The track also crossed over to the Pop charts, going to #48 on the Hot 100. The single version is an edit of the more than 8-minute album version. This was a favorite of mine and another of those singles that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit.
