English singer-songwriter Louisa Gabriella Bobb, who's known simply as Gabrielle, took this song to #1 on the UK Pop chart in 1993; "Dreams" was her debut single that entered the chart at #2, becoming the highest chart entry by a female solo act in the UK at the time. The song became a worldwide hit and was a Top Ten song in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland. In the USA, the single peaked at #26 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1994 but went to #1 on the Dance charts. This was one of my favorite songs of 1993--the string arrangements used here are just lovely.
