Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke in Quebec about Canada’s response to the ongoing trade war with the United States, stressing that Canada must act carefully and strategically.

Carney acknowledged that the U.S. economy is much larger than Canada’s, making it difficult to respond dollar-for-dollar to every American tariff.

He said Canada must be thoughtful, targeted and precise in its response, choosing measures that are effective without causing unnecessary damage to Canadian businesses.
