On January 30, 2024. An officer from the Glendale Police Department was on patrol when he saw a red 2012 Chrysler traveling westbound in front of him. A record check of the vehicle revealed that the registered owner had a suspended driver's license and the registration was suspended due to emissions. The officer activated his squad's emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop and the driver of the vehicle, later identified as (Kyle), accelerated away from the officer. Kyle sped through a red light while going approximately 60 mph in a posted 35 mph zone and swerved out of his lane to avoid striking another car. At that point the officer was ordered to terminate the pursuit. A few hours later, officers learned that the registered owner of the vehicle was at a motel, went there and saw her exiting a room and began to talk to her. She stated that her friend Kyle was in possession of her car and that she had last heard from him around 1:45 A.M. via phone. She stated that he told her, "I would never do anything to you and I love you." Police reviewed CCTV footage from the Motel 6 which showed the defendant enter and exit the room and make his way to the driver seat of the Chrysler and leave around 1:14 am. Officers were informed of Kyle’s location and went to the residence to arrest him. While detaining him, Kyle became angry at a woman inside of the home for letting officers inside. He also spoke with the registered owner of the vehicle, his “Baby Momma” and began cursing at her. At the station, Kyle said that he was cold. An officer said that he would give him blankets if he removed his hair tie but Kyle initially refused. Kyle was found guilty for Fleeing or Eluding an Officer. He was sentenced to 15 months in prison and 2 years extended supervision. His license also got suspended for 6 months and he was ordered to pay $518 in fines.
