On July 17, 2024. A deputy from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department saw a Crotch Rocket motorcycle without a licence plate and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. As the deputy activated his emergency lights, the motorcycle took off at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was temporarily terminated before another deputy observed the bike and reengaged in the pursuit. Due to the high speeds and dangerous driving, the pursuit was terminated again. Deputies reached speeds of 119 MPH and the fleeing driver later identified as Dominick reached speeds of 133 MPH.While searching the area for the bike, a deputy observed motorcycle skid marks in the roadway. The deputy recognized that it was near a residence from previous law enforcement contacts, where he knew a gentleman to reside who matched the physical descriptors of the fleeing driver. A deputy spoke with a woman who stated that she was Dominick’s mother. She admitted that Dominick was on his bike earlier in the day and had him come outside to speak with the deputies. Dominick admitted to what happened and led the deputies to a building on the property where the motorcycle was located. Upon seeing the bike, a deputy Gorr noted that it was still warm to the touch and the bike did match the one that fled. Dominick made a statement that he had put his arms in a stopping type motion to try to get deputies to stop chasing him. Dominick then advised he would be invoking his 5th amendment right, at which point he was under arrest for felony eluding. He was searched before being placed into a squad car. Dominick was transported to the Marquette County Jail where he was very polite and very cooperative. He was found guilty for Vehicle Operator Fleeing or Eluding an Officer. Dominick was sentenced to 36 months of probation, his license got revoked for 6 months, and he was ordered to pay $538 in fines.
