On July 26, 2024. An officer from the Gibraltar Police Department, and deputies from the Door County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence for a dispute. Dispatch advised a male subject named James spray painted black paint over a window to block security cameras. Upon arrival, law enforcement saw a male subject standing outside recording a female standing in a doorway on the back side of the building. An officer approached the male subject, James and the Deputies spoke with the female. James explained that the police were over just the other night and that he is the owner of the building along with his sister, Teresa who was the caller. James said his sister has security cameras in the window of her business pointed at his area. James said Teresa does not need to see what he is doing so he sprayed black paint over the window to block the cameras. James said his sister “is a drunk” and it was determined that officers previously responded for the exact same thing of James spray painting his sister's windows. Law Enforcement determined the dispute to be a civil issue because they were both owners of the building. James made the statement several times that he owns the building also and could do what he wants. James and Teresa both state they both slapped each other's phones. An officer watched a recording on James' phone but wrote in his report that he could not determine what had happened. Teresa stated that James locked her out of a shared entry area. An officer informed both subjects this was a “childish” dispute and it needed to stop or citations would be issued. James continued to be antagonistic and it was determined that he would be receiving a citation for Disorderly Conduct. James was found guilty and ordered to pay a $100 fine.
