On June 29, 2025 an officer from the Mequon Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. As the officer approached the driver, he detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver verbally identified herself as Siriah and showed the officer a photo of her identification card on her phone.
A short time later, another officer arrived on scene and Siriah was ordered to exit the vehicle. Siriah immediately shifted her car into drive and quickly accelerated, causing her tires to squeal as she fled from the traffic stop. Officers notified dispatch that Siriah had fled but decided not to pursue after because they knew who she was.
Later in the day, a male called the Mequon Police Department identifying himself as Siriah's father. He confirmed that Siriah was the operator of the vehicle and stated that Siriah told him that she fled because she was “scared”. The father thanked the officer for not chasing after his daughter and stated that he would have Siriah turn herself in.
Two days later, Siriah arrived at the Police Department with her family and stated she was there to "Turn herself in". Officers escorted her to an Interview Room and read Siriah her Miranda Rights. She denied to answer questions and was secured in handcuffs before being placed in the rear of a squad car. An officer transported her to the Ozaukee County Jail and released her to jail staff. Siriah was found guilty for Vehicle Operator Fleeing or Eluding an Officer. She was sentenced to 6 months in jail and 3 years of extended supervision.
