Join me as I continue the 2025 Give Hope Wings expedition—a cross-country flying fundraiser in support of Hope Air, providing free medical flights for Canadians in need. This leg of the journey takes us from Sault Ste Marie to Atikokan, and finally to Steinbach, navigating around low cloud ceilings, forest fire evacuations, and unexpected layovers (including a night sleeping in the terminal!).
Despite changing plans due to weather delays and fire-related hotel shortages, we’ve raised over $37,000 thanks to your generosity. I reflect on the people I’ve met, the aviation lessons I’ve learned, and the emotional highs and lows of this charitable flying adventure. I also share what's next: my journey to finally complete my IFR certification—so I never miss a stop again.
✈️ Follow along as I battle turbulent skies, coordinate with fellow pilots, and celebrate a special homecoming for Cessna 172 Mike Victor Uniform in Manitoba, where this aircraft first began its life in the 1960s.
