Exploring the pinnacle of Canadian aviation history! In today’s episode of "Explore Canada," I’m joined by Andy from DeBoss Garage for a flight from Welland to Edenvale to see the legendary Avro Arrow.

About This Video: We kick things off by checking out my heavily modified 1961 Cessna 172B, featuring an upgraded glass panel, extended wings for STOL performance, and a manual flap handle. After a quick pre-flight, Andy takes the controls as we head toward Edenvale.

Once on the ground, we dive deep into the history of the Avro CF-105 Arrow. We discuss the incredible feat of engineering that saw this Mach 2 interceptor go from paper to flight in just 11 months—and the devastating "brain drain" that followed its controversial cancellation in 1959.

What you’ll see in this video:

Detailed walkthrough of the modifications on my Cessna 172B.
Andy from DeBoss Garage flying through "purple boxes" on the glass cockpit.
A close-up look at the Avro Arrow replica and the Orenda Iroquois engine.
A discussion on the impact of the Arrow’s cancellation on the Canadian economy and innovation.
A challenging landing back at Oshawa with gusting winds.
