From Monday to Saturday, Tha Sai in Samut Sakhon Province is an anonymous factory town; the home of 250,000 workers in Thailand's seafood processing industry. But on Sundays, the town explodes in colors and aromas as one of the country's largest markets- a Burmese street fair that might as well have been lifted from Yangon.
There are as many as four million Myanmar migrants and refugees in Thailand today, though as with most new immigrants to a country, they work the blue-collar jobs and live outside of the mainstream country. But that's starting to change. So in this video, we're tracing the path of Burmese people- and their food- from the factory cities to downtown Bangkok, and visiting with the owner of Myanmar's first (and only) microbrewery, to learn about his new venture in Thailand.
