My brother Eddie gave me 2 Vacuum Sealed qts of recently frozen fresh water large-mouth Bass Fillets. I just let them thaw out to fry the next day. This video shows how I used an old 1982 homemade fish cooker I made back when I worked at the power company. Back then, after we had all of our work done and got back to the shop we would piddle on something. This cooker was made out of an old medal milk crate, had some 3/8 black pipe as a manifold, with a threaded T-coupling, brass valve, and a tobacco barn gas burner. The manifold was welded inside the crate positioning the burner just up under the flat steel mesh crate top. Very easy and simple cooker which was connected to a small propane tank with 3/8" hose and regulator. It has fried up hundreds of pounds of fish over the past 30 years. Stays stored in my shop most of the time until I drag it out to fry up some fish. Still as good as the day I made it. Hope you enjoy watching this video. It means a lot to me having one of my younger brothers involved, and speaking of and thinking of my old work buddies. Of the (7) in this particular group I used to work with, 5 of my dear friends and work buddies are no longer with us. So many memories. We traveled together, worked together, and ate together every day for many years. They were like family. This little cooker reminds me of those days.
