These dig boxes were built during a two-hour team-building event at West Midlands Safari Park. The boxes are designed to hold substrate and food, and offer species that naturally dig for food an extra opportunity to use this natural behaviour. However, it can be modified. Here we see the box with mesh inside, which they have to reach past. However, the lid can be opened and the mesh replaced with cardboard to really encourage that digging behaviour. The cardboard and the mesh can then be combined.
