At the end of August a group from FOUR PAWS UK joined us for a full day team build at the beautiful Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary.
Working in five teams, each one created a component part of this fantastic multi-layered platform, which provides comfort, height to make the most of the surrounding view and sunny days, cover from rain and sun, as well as visual barriers should the resident primates want to spend some time away from each other on different levels too!
It also combines the fixed L-Shaped platforms with the moving triangles, as different sanctuary residents have different physical abilities depending on their backgrounds.
Current residents, rescued primates Jangles and Diadi, were not shy about exploring their new space even before some food was added and have been making good use of the new structure ever since!
On the day we just ran out time to install the second triangular platform, so are very gratful to Jim for putting it up a couple of days later. As we were back at the Sanctuary this week we popped back to see how they were doing and the finished piece looks great as you'll see at the end of the video!
Massive thanks to the team for working so hard to make such a huge difference to the primates outside area and thank you as always to Alex Bennett from Falcon Timber Ltd for help sourcing the materials needed to complete this build!
