Last month we ran the first 'Building With BITE' event at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, where members of the park and general public could sign up and participate in this epic building event in the lion enclosure.
We got to the park early to set up and install the first three poles, and we were then joined by the group who got stuck in building the rest. Over the half-day event one large and three smaller platforms were built from scratch and installed, which included creating the frames, digging holes for the legs, putting the frames in place and finally cladding them.
The idea is to give the two older lions a nice comfy place to rest and access the hill. But when the younger rescued lions enter this enclosure they will have a great play structure that doubles as a nice warm resting area.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on the day, you all did amazing, and it was a pleasure working with you all.
