How many wheelbarrow loads does it take to move 70 tons of sand into a meerkat enclosure? The answer is far too many! You'll notice that as the structures are being built, they are free-standing. The reason is that the enclosure is built to allow full drainage, so we really didn't want to damage this perfectly prepared ground. But all of the structures are linked together, making it solid, and then with the huge amount of sand around the legs, over a meter in some places, it has really firmed everything up.
