We like to change up designs, or alter things based on past designs or feedback from the keepers, and every team build we run allows us to improve up on past ideas.
We recently ran a team-building event at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve that allowed us to do just that, and this is officially V3 of the primate hanging feeder.
Designed to allow different primates the chance to use their agility or special adaptations, and in this case, it meant the howler monkeys got to use their fantastic 5th limb. The main body of the feeder is suspended on a swivel, meaning it can turn. The lower part of the device can rock back and forth, and then finally two different feeders are hung through the middle, each offering a different challenge.
Well done to the team for building these feeders. In the weeks since, they have been tested with other species to great effect.
