Do your curls feel heavy and stuck together when they dry?

What you’re really looking for is space between your curl layers.
That space is what I call stacking.
It’s what allows your curls to shrink up, bounce, and lift instead of sticking to each other and getting heavy.
When hair is too clumped together:
it dries flatter
it elongates
it loses bounce
Whether you use a brush or just your hands, the goal is the same:
✨ thinner sections
✨ more separation
✨ more room for curls to move
If I’m not brush styling, I just rake with my hands and let the hair fall.
Then I check for big clumps and split them so there’s space between each layer.
That space is what lets the curls spring up instead of being weighed down by each other.
More volume doesn’t always mean more product.
Sometimes it just means more separation.
