In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet pigeon applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colors (242) Metal Grey, (393) Charcoal, (074) Mercury, (254) Moon Rock, (404) English Tea and (110) Black. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends. Thread and needle to stitch the pigeon together. Black, brown and green or pink thread to embroider on the eye and markings and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 14cm wide x 11cm high (5.5” wide x 4.25” high) for the larger pigeon, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the pigeon in Catona will be 12cm wide x 9cm high (4.75” wide x 3.5” high). The medium pigeon will be 9cm wide x 7cm high (3.5” wide x 2.75” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small pigeon will be 7.5cm wide x 6cm high (3.5” wide x 2.5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
