In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet granny square shopping bag.

For this pattern you will need 4 ply crochet cotton, it will need to be cotton not acrylic, so it doesn’t stretch. I used part of a ball of yellow for the centre, part of a ball of red, orange, blue, purple and pink for the flower part, 2 balls of green for the next part and allowed 4 balls of black for the outsides of the granny squares and to make up the bag. A crochet hook, I used a 2mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends and stitch the granny squares together and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 46cm wide x 61cm high or 18” wide x 24” high with the strap.
