My solo climb of Crestone Peak from west side via Cottonwood Creek drainage. This is not a maintained trail, and one needs to be experienced in route finding and class 3 scramble to enjoy this route. However it is quite beautiful and secluded, and I’d highly recommend this route especially in the fall when the leaves are changing and there are no mosquitoes. Total stats: 12 miles with 5800’ elevation gain
