It was quite windy in the high country lately, so we opted to do some hiking/scrambling in the foothills of Boulder, Colorado. Dinosaur Mountain behind NCAR is one of my favorite places to hang out due to abundance of scrambling opportunities. It’s so named due to many crags/flatirons sticking out of the mountain side, resembling the back of a stegosaurus. During this trip I first scrambled 200’ up a class4 ramp called Sunnyside 2, near a rock formation called Der Zerkle. We then split off the popular Mallory Cave Trail to head up to the summit of Dinosaur Mountain. I have been up there a few times before, and in this video I included some details of the main challenges to reach the summit. After enjoying the summit for 30 mins by ourselves we headed back down and were back at parking lot in about an hr
