Taking a leap of faith and stepping into the wilds of Okinawa's Yanbaru Forests paid dividends as I looked out over a view so few have seen. It took a bit of a climb, trust in my snake boots and a desire to be one of the few to enjoy imaging high above the island.
In the very Northern reaches of Okinawa Island one can find the main tourist attraction of Cape Hedo. Most visitors to the island take in this location as part of their itinerary. It's a craggy, rocky coastline that defines the Northern vibe of Okinawa.Fewer people, in fact just a handful a month, take their gaze inland, into the thick forests that cover this undeveloped area.
With a little exploration and about a 40minute climb you can find yourself in one of the most incredible of settings that will simply take your breath away...
