From the Northern Okinawa forests of the Yanbaru I went in search of two of Japan's rarest of Bird species, the Pryers Woodpecker and the Okinawa Rail. This is the adventure and the surprising solution to the greatest challenge to film the emblem of the region, a species that has also been appointed as a Natural Living Monument by the Wildlife Department of Japan.
Filmed with an iPhone6S Plus my main goal is to show people that wildlife filming is also an option for smart devices. Beyond the selfie these cameras are becoming increasingly attractive for filmmakers and documentary groups.
