Deaf poet Donna Williams's signed poem (in British Sign Language) "My Cat" tells a story of the poet’s search for a new cat until she finds a deaf cat. It was performed at Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania, in March 2011
The poems in this channel are part of the collection made as the University of Bristol Sign Language Poetry Anthology with the aim to study metaphor in sign language poetry. The poem is discussed in the book Introducing sign language literature folklore and creativity, by Rachel Sutton-Spence and Michiko Kaneko, published by Palgrave press.
