Michael Stern is a Brethren singer, songwriter who has written 2 songbooks of original music. He has recorded thirteen albums & several singles. Mike is regularly featured as an artist at the annual Brethren Song & Story Fest. He served in Dayton, Ohio as a Brethren Volunteer Service worker and during the war in Viet Nam was a draft resistor and ordered to perform alternative service in Dayton, Ohio with an inner city Head Start school for children.
Mike has traveled extensively while singing and working for peace and justice, including trips to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, the sites of atomic bombing of World War II. He has traveled to do rebuilding and singing trips to Malawi and Zimbabwe for a Habitat for Humanity. Following an earthquake in El Salvador, Mike volunteered for disaster relief.
