Lets go back to the summer of 1977, and see some classic Soo Line action on Bob Rivards AMAZING Soo Line Layout. We'll chase a matched pair of Soo Line U30Cs up Shoreham Hill, out to Cardigan, and watch it meet a train from Superior, with a DM&IR SD9 leading the way. The layout is something you'd see in a museum! We'll also get a look at some of the last U30Cs in operation on the LS&I in Michigan.
Things start off over in NE Minneapolis at Johnson St NE as two U30Cs tackle Shoreham Hill. After watching them at Johnson St, we'll see them further up the hill at Benjamin St NE. Following this, the GE duo was shot racing over Old Hwy 8 in New Brighton. We'll catch up to the train again in Arden Hills, and one final time in Shoreview, at Cardigan Jct. At Cardigan, we'll see the depot, learn a bit about it, and watch it meet a train with Duluth, Missabe, and Iron Range power leading. After this, we'll see the U30C duo blast off!
