The Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern Railroad never disappoints, and in this case we'll see FOUR SD40-2s roaring down the tracks. From its neat sounding horn, screaming by in run 8, drone shots, and low level views, this was a FUN chase of classic EMD power still hard at work in 2024!
A set of four SD40-2s were caught leading the RCP&E out of Mankato, MN. They wasted no time getting on the move, and were quickly head west towards South Dakota. The quad pack of SD40-2s are first seen rolling out of Mankato on a pleasant Saturday afternoon. Leading the way, was RCPE 3434 which had an interesting sounding horn. After snaking its way through Mankato, the train is seen from the sky via the drone a few times, capturing a neat pace shot. Things come to a close in New Ulm as the four 40s scream up the stuff grade on the west side of town. The railroads solid EMD roster never fails to be fun to see!
