Remember when music was literally about melodies and rhythms? A time when we didn't have women dancing around provocative popping their boobs out in a music video to sell the music or hang from a wrecking ball naked just to sell the single? A time when music wasn't so overly political to the point of every artist writing a woke song about hating Donald Trump. Drift back to the early 1970's when music was real and more band orientated.
Big Jim "H" & His Men Of Rhythm - Hammond Organ Dance Party is a 1971 Australian vinyl LP (MFP = Made For Pleasure label) also on the Rainbow label featuring instrumental Hammond organ covers of popular tunes such as George Harrison's ''My Sweet Lord'' and "Down By The Riverside" in a 1970's light-hearted style.
The instrument players are just studio session players who helped make up the band. The drummer has a very interesting drum pattern repeated over and over in nearly all the songs not normally heard or used by other drummers and the bass guitar is so smooth and straight.
The music on this album makes for a good listen on stereo headphones and has that (good old style stereo separation) with the bass on the left and the drums on the right. The music is very upbeat, uptempo and light-hearted.
This is a vinyl record album usually found in charity shops like ''Salvation Army'' and ''St Vincent De Pauls'' also known as ''Vinnys'' for a bargain. Me and my dad found this album at Salvos for literally $1 dollar and it appears to be a record of very little play time as it sounds very clean with only a few ticks and pops heard here and there. Along time ago I transferred the audio from the vinyl record to compact disc and decided to whip it out on the SEGA Mega-CD for playback.
A few people over the years have been asking for this album in it's complete running time to be uploaded as they can't find anywhere to listen to it and it's an album long out of print from the 1970's never to be reissued onto CD.
