This month's Super Nintendo One Life Challenge is ''Mega Man X'' another game I have never played.
The Mega Man series was never popular over here where I am and I don't remember any hype or news about it back in the day, not saying it's a bad game series just saying it wasn't that popular. Mega Man was a more of a Japanese/American love affair where Capcom and Nintendo were in bed with each other going nuts while the rest of the world watched from a distance thinking ''what is all the fuss about''?
This try that you're watching was my very first try. I did however watch Josh's original video first before having a crack so I could get a feel of what I was up against.
In my run I tried to replicate Josh's video by going through the same routes as he did, however Josh got farther than me as he died at the Charmeleon boss and I didn't even make it the Charmeleon boss, I died on the way lol. I also found the controls a bit awkward, the jump button was mapped to the A button on my Mega Drive controller and the shoot button was mapped to the X button, I could have changed the button layout in the options so that's no fault of the game.
If you would like to participate in the challenge, all you gotta do is record a try of yourself playing this game, keep playing until you lose a try and then stop recording and upload it to Youtube and tag your video to J.Russell Retro Gaming. Come on give it a go. Surely you can get further than me?
