Not much to say about this one, except I stopped by Milan Twp. FD #2 on US 250 and S. Mudbrook Rd. to drop my Sony audio recorder at this small logo -SRNB. Since it was on my way to the Eclipse anyways, it worked out perfectly.
This is one of only two small logo SRNB's in Erie County, both are in Milan Township, and are both AC-only (this one is higher pitched than the other unit), and is about 1.5 miles north of the Eclipse downtown, which can normally be heard from this location but not in this recording as I placed the recorder directly underneath the siren.
Not quite sure they installed them as AC only, but likely to cut costs. The 2 sirens were installed by Federal Field Services in 2002.
(The rest of the SRNB's in Erie County were installed by FFS in 2004; and are AC/DC. There are also 3 2001-130's in Erie County, all around Vermillion that were added later on for extra coverage).
I would come back and record this unit in an HD video (the last time this unit was recorded was in 2015 during TommyBNSF's tornado warning recording), but I am moving down to SW Ohio permanently later this month.
Recording Device: Sony ICD-PX370 (recording distance was 0', I placed the recorder directly underneath the siren pole).
