Around the same time before Atari became big, they produced this consumer unit which took your left & right line level audio channels and converted them to imagery on your television.
Those light speaker boxes in the 1970s were popular as disco emerged. This was competition for that and was short-lived apparently.
Picked this up a couple years ago without a power supply. Found out that it took a 16 V AC +/-8 v power supply, pretty much un obtainium. Yes, an AC +8 and -8 V rail in relation to ground. Found a Colorado cartridge computer tape backup power supply, which I wired in and it worked fine. But it felt clunky and was a real pain to work with given the size of the wall power adapter.
Here we are a couple years later, and I wanted to change the capacitors and put a more permanent power supply in.
Here is a video of a quick demo and then my restoration process to replace the capacitors and install an integrated power supply purchased off of eBay.
This thing is really cool and it works better than ever!
