Here’s another Technics Class A “CompuDrive” receiver.
It has a fancy circuit which goes through the motions when initially powered on with a preheat function and then ongoing monitoring of the temperature, output power, and audio quality to deliver the best possible sound.
As you turn the volume up, or when deep bass is present, the preamp adjusts and reduces bass slightly to avoid clipping and distortion. It’s an interesting feature that this line had. The SA 110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 810 and 1010 which is featured as the cover picture of this Facebook group all had variants of the CompuDrive circuit.
The 510 here has discrete transistors and was rebiased. In great working condition and playing a Chicago band from the early 80’s called “The Kind” and the song is called “Loved by You” which was a local hit in 1983 when this receiver was sold.
